Mid-Day Report from Eufaula

The Bushes Have the Bass. Logan on a Roll.

At the halfway point of the event, the bushes are producing—and none other than Wes Logan is in charge. Fresh off a win on Lake Tenkiller, the Alabama pro is riding high and trusting his decision-making to put himself exactly where he needs to be early in this two-day Oklahoma shootout.

Fishing shallow has been the move, but the other key to the day has been keeping it fresh. Top Progressive Angler of the Year contenders seen on Live Coverage are constantly rotating through new water. Swimjigs, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, and flipping presentations have all been in play. Despite the wind, rain, high water, and mud—Lake Eufaula is still kicking out limits, and it looks like it’s going to take some serious weight to pull off a win.

Logan is currently anchored by two big bites, pushing his unofficial limit to nearly 19 pounds. Behind him, Brandon Cobb and Corey Casey each have almost 5-pound anchors—Cobb sits near 18 pounds, while Casey is close behind at around 17. Local legend Tommy Biffle has a solid bag over 16.5 pounds with one smaller fish, leaving him room to upgrade this afternoon. Rounding out the top five, Derek Lehtonen is sitting over 15 pounds—solid, even without a true kicker.

On-the-water reports point to warm, humid, and slick conditions across the board, with anglers covering water and adapting on the fly. Water color is still a factor but not limiting the bite. The fish are shallow—and if you can find the right stretch, you can get bit. Water temps are nearing 80 degrees in some areas, and quick decisions are making or breaking the day.

With the afternoon bite still ahead, we’ll see who climbs the FISHING CHAOS CATCH TRACK leaderboard before weigh-in kicks off.

Live coverage is rolling all day and returns for Finale Friday tomorrow, wrapping up a gritty two-day Oklahoma showdown on Lake Eufaula.
