Final Mid-Day Championship Report

Slow day for the leaders as we approach the weigh-in on Lake Hartwell.

Day Two leader Jason Burroughs is feeling the pressure, both as the leader going out boat one this morning from Green Pond Landing and from the fishing pressure. He is only reporting a few smaller fish at the mid-day point of Showdown Sunday and has fallen to just inside the top ten.

Boat two this morning, Michael Stout relied on a late afternoon rally on day two and will need the same flurry again today. While Stout does have a limit for around 8 pounds, it will not be enough. A few decent bites and he will be one to watch at the weigh-in, starting at 3:30 PM EST at Green Pond Landing.

The man on top, Scott Hamrick, has been consistent all week and has a 12-pound limit so far today, moving him unofficially to the top of the Fishing Chaos Catch Track. Behind Hamrick, Zack Birge is also one to watch, and with likely the biggest bag of the day, over 15 pounds, Birge is going to make a push for the Championship. With two small bass in his well, along with 4- and 5-pound kickers, he can improve even further.

On the Water

On-the-water reports indicate that the majority of anglers observed by the camera crew are fishing shallow, flipping around docks with jigs and throwing a popper-style bait as well. There are plenty of offshore anglers, and one of them may prevail. Someone like Trent Palmer, who has been super consistent so far and is fishing both deep and shallow, may have just enough of each to earn the title.

The weather been stellar for the first two days, but things have changed this afternoon. The wind is picking up, its clouded over, and the rain is expected, at least for a little bit.

Current Top 10 (Unofficial):
Scott Hamrick 42‑4
Zack Birge 41‑6
Michael Stout 39‑13
Drew Cook 39‑5
Jason Meninger 38‑14
Will Harkins 38‑5
Mike Quinlin 37‑13
Nick Brown 37‑12
Jason Burroughs 37‑9
Timothy Reams 37‑1

The League

Since the NPFL launched in 2021, the goal has remained the same: To prioritize anglers and establish a trail that aligns with the original intentions of competive bass fishing's founders.
