As expected, Hartwell is being stingy on day one. Hosted by Anderson County, stop two of the 2024 NPFL season is underway and despite decent weather, the fishing has slowed down. Anglers predicted that capitalizing on the morning bite would be key, and the addition of a big bass to anchor each day’s weight would separate the top anglers from the rest.

Justin Kimmell got off to a fast start this morning boating an early limit of over 12 pounds, with a 3-pound kicker, but it looks like Kimmell has slowed down on the action as the later-day bite becomes a struggle for everyone. His experience on Hartwell should allow him to slow down and focus on the bigger bite as the day goes on.

At the mid-day point, it’s Jason Burroughs who is in control with a limit of over 14 pounds, according to the Weigh Live Tracker. His 4-pound kicker should help him stay near the top with only half the day remaining.

Behind him, Will Harkins, winner of stop number one at Logan Martin Lake in February, is unofficially in the second-place spot with over 13 pounds.

Running & Gunning

According to on-the-water photographers, Tanner and Travis Lyons, the action has come to a halt. It’s reported the high sun and light winds, combined with overly pressured fish, are making anglers scratch their heads. Many anglers are running around covering water and hoping to find active bass.

The weigh-in this afternoon begins at 3:00 PM EST on TNPFL.com.

The top ten look like this:

Jason Burroughs 14-8
Will Harkins 13-8
Justin Kimmell 12-12
Richard Kee 12-11
Michael Stout 12-11
Douglas Chapin 12-8
Todd Goade 12-3
Isaac Peavyhouse 11-13
Kyle Welcher 11-4
JTodd Tucker 11-0

The League

Since the NPFL launched in 2021, the goal has remained the same: To prioritize anglers and establish a trail that aligns with the original intentions of competive bass fishing's founders.
