Stop #6 of the 2025 NPFL season heads south to Alabama for the final regular-season event on Logan Martin Lake. Hosted by the City of Oxford, the tournament runs September 25–27, with daily takeoffs at 6:30 AM CST from Lincoln’s Landing, 740 Travis Dr, Lincoln, AL 35096. Weigh-ins begin at 3:00 PM CST, with live coverage streaming Friday and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM CST.
Fall conditions and drought-driven low water have scattered fish across the lake. Currents are minimal, pushing bass to structure. Anglers will need patience, targeting a mix of shallow flats, points, docks, laydowns, seawalls, and rocks/rip-rap to build a limit while hoping for a quality bite along the way. With no single pattern dominating practice, “Bama” angler Wes Logan is planning a mix of strategies for day one.
Anglers Take
“Things are about typical for September in Alabama,” said Logan. “Luckily, we are in a good fishery here this week, but it was tougher to get bites during practice than I expected. The fish I did catch were beat up, poor—they get pressured all summer long—so I expect weights to be down a little.”
Throughout practice, things were slower than expected. Logan only had one decent day generating multiple bites, but he remains a force to be reckoned with anytime he launches in Alabama.
“It was slower than I expected. Could be the weather or just the days, but generally, there’s nothing to generate 25 bites out here,” said Logan. “We have some weather coming in, which may change things. The winter drawdown is coming next week, and I think we’ll likely see the biggest bag of the week tomorrow—but it will be hard to duplicate the rest of the tournament.”
Beyond the bites, Logan has a hard time calling the fishing on Logan Martin “junk fishing.” To him, that’s just how you fish this week’s playing field. With the number of different lakes he fishes over a season, there are plenty of places you can’t junk fish—but on Logan Martin, it’s a must.
“I think bigger than that, you just have to be confident in what you’re using—fish your strengths and fish what looks good,” he added. “I know this lake a little, but not nearly as well as Neely Henry, and I think as long as you’re getting bites, you’re bound to run into a big fish at some point. You just have to mix it up.”
When day one kicks off tomorrow at 6:30 AM CST from Lincoln’s Landing, expect the fish to be biting somewhere. For Logan, being boat number 101, it may be a little while until he makes his first cast.
That first cast bait? “I’m going to say a jig for me,” he laughed.
Weather Watch
Temperatures in the low 70s will creep up to near 80 by the time the first flight checks in. Winds will be southwest at less than 10 MPH, and cloudy skies in the morning will give way to some sun throughout the day, returning to cloudy by weigh-in.
