Day one leader Jason Burroughs brought 17‑12 to the scales on day one and went out this morning as the angler with a target on his back. His history on Hartwell allowed him to adjust under tough conditions, scrapping practice and finding quality bass in the afternoon. So far today, the South Carolina angler is reporting 12‑5 at the mid-day point on day two.
Behind Burroughs, Scott Hamrick is over 12 pounds on the day, though the bite has been tougher than day one. Joey Bloom is reporting 10‑12, with Drew Cook in fourth at 9‑8. Rounding out the top five, Timmy Reams is in the 12-pound range, giving him a 24‑0 total through two days.
Georgia pro Will Harkins, who had 15‑8 on day one, is working on a small limit with plenty of room to grow. He is reporting around 8 pounds and is sitting in tenth at the mid-day point of day two.
On the Water
On-the-water reports indicate a slower day two, but schools of bass are grouped on points, feeding on bait. Anglers are working topwater baits around the activity. It was sunny in the morning, but clouds have rolled in, which could change conditions for the afternoon.
