On the way to his first spot this morning, the Debary, Florida angler noticed drastic changes since the final day of practice on Tuesday. Carson said on live that the “water had dropped over a foot” and he completely scrapped his practice and made a move to an area that he thought would have more water.

Carson is flipping brush at the mouth of a creek and has over 27-pounds unofficially. He is flipping a bait around flooded brush, like the rest of the field, but is adding a swimming “come n get it” action according the Live Broadcaster David Dudley.

He told Photographer Tanner Lyons he had not fished the areas where his weight has come from yet and is just rolling with the conditions. With weather coming in for tomorrow, Carson is trying to stack as much weight as possible here on day 1.

“I still have all the areas I found in practice to fish later today or later this week. I feel like I can get over 30-pounds based on the start,” Carson told Tanner on the water.
