The big fish are biting on day one!

Despite reports of falling water levels and tougher conditions due to fish being pushed away from the brush, the anglers at the top have taken advantage of some big bites to get off to a decent start on day one.

With some familiar names at the top, it has been all Todd Goade so far this morning with a reported 18 pounds, 1 ounce on the unofficial weigh live tracker. Goad also checks in with the biggest bass of the day at over 6.5 pounds.

Behind him, Louis Fernandes recently jumped up to the top five with 16 pounds, 6 ounces, with a 5-pound kicker. The rest of the top five currently includes Brad Staley with 16 pounds, 5 ounces, Barron Adams with 14 pounds, 4 ounces, and T.R. Andreas with 14 pounds, 3 ounces.

At this point, we have 15 limits being reported and most at near the top of the leaderboard, larger bass are still being caught and will make a big difference in the final-day standings this afternoon.

According to on-the-water photographers, Tanner and Travis Lyons, local angler Michael Yoder noted that the fish are biting weirdly on the day due to muddy water from rain events and that the water continues to fall at the moment spreading out the fish and making them harder to be targeted.

The top ten look like this:
Todd Goade 18-1
Louis Fernandes 16-6
Brad Staley 16-5
Barron Adams 14-4
T.R. Andreas 14-3
Jeff Fitts13-15
Darrel Robertson 13-12
Ryan Satterfield 13-11
Nick Brown 13-9
Brandon Perkins 13-2

Since the NPFL launched in 2021, the goal has remained the same: To prioritize anglers and establish a trail that aligns with the original intentions of competive bass fishing's founders.
