Mid-Day Report, Smaller weights thus far on day two

The weather is changing and the cream is rising to the top on Saginaw Bay.

At the halfway point of day two in Bay City, the anglers battled the wind in the morning and it kept the smallmouth guys tamed for a few hours. As the wind slowed down and the waves calmed, the smallmouth turned on and we have seen several anglers culling largemouth with bigger smallmouth bass in the last hour.

The afternoon period will be key and a lot of the smaller bags recorded on the Weigh Live Tracker will begin to rise. At this point, the day one leader Patrick Walters has unofficially taken over the lead and is slightly ahead of his roommate Trent Palmer. Both anglers have limits around 14-pounds, potentially more, and have jumped back to the top working though culling with big smallmouth.

As for the rest of the top five, Stu Martel was seen catching both large and smallmouth this morning and has worked his way to around 13-pounds. Behind him, Barron Adams and Hunter Baughman have around 15-pounds and sit in the fourth and fifth spot.

Live coverage ends at 1PM and the final hours will make for an exciting weigh-in this afternoon.

The top ten look like this:
Patrick Walters 34-4
Trent Palmer 32-10
Stu Martel 31-5
Barron Adams 31-1
Hunter Baughman 31-0
Todd Goade 30-11
Dustin Smith 30-0
Travis Jewell 28-14
Will Harkins 28-11
Jesse Wise 27-12

Since the NPFL launched in 2021, the goal has remained the same: To prioritize anglers and establish a trail that aligns with the original intentions of competive bass fishing's founders.
