Mid-Day Report – Slow n Steady

The Final Day is Shaping Up for a Tight Finish.

By the midway point on Championship Sunday, weights aren’t quite on par with the first two days, putting the estimated 75-pound target for victory in jeopardy. Most recently, on day two, leader Corey Casey and third-place angler Skeeter Crosby lit up the Fishing Chaos Catch Track early and often, each boating over 28 pounds. But today, things are slower, and it’s the NPFL “newcomers” making waves—Hank Cherry, Caleb Kuphall, Bill Lowen, and Jason Christie now hold the unofficial top four spots.

Cherry leads with over 21 pounds on the day, matching his day-two total, anchored by two six-pounders. Backed by his massive 26-pound day-one bag, Cherry has been consistent all three days and still has time to upgrade.

Kuphall and Lowen have each weighed in over 20 pounds daily and are in striking position—Kuphall sits in second with 20 pounds today, while Lowen, who had the most room to climb, is sitting on 13 pounds so far.

In fourth, Christie is still riding his 31-pound, 6-ounce day-one limit. He followed that up with a solid 19-pound bag on day two and has plenty of room to grow today, sitting at 15 pounds so far. Rounding out the top five, Jason Meninger has been the definition of consistency—posting 22 pounds, 3 ounces on day one, 22 pounds, 12 ounces on day two, though he’s struggling slightly today with a modest limit halfway through Sunday.

Day-one leader Corey Casey has yet to report a catch on Fishing Chaos Catch Track but remains unofficially inside the top ten. Runner-up Buck Mallory, who started the day in second, is off to his slowest start yet—his lone fish is a solid five-pounder, but the Michigan pro is debating a change as the final hours tick down.
