The NPFL is underway in east Tennessee this week for Stop #3 on Douglas Lake. Day Two kicks off this morning from the Dandridge City Boat Ramp at 6:00 a.m., with weigh-in set to begin around 2:00 p.m. at the same location. Live Coverage runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST with Luke Dunkin and FatCat Newton, streaming on TNPFL.com.
Despite tons of fish being caught on Day One—including all but a few anglers recording a catch and around 110 bringing in a five-bass limit—finding quality was a different story. Several anglers reported catching 30 to 40 bass throughout the day, but weights remain tight. Just two pounds separates 50th place from 100th, meaning one key bite could make a massive difference over the next two days.
Scott Canterbury leads the field after a 17-pound, 6-ounce limit on Day One. The Alabama pro started in the bushes before shifting offshore around 11:00 a.m., culling up with a handful of key bites.
Just behind him, TVA veteran Buddy Gross committed to the ledges all day and worked through around 15 fish to post 16 pounds, 9 ounces. With his primary areas fished by early afternoon, Gross spent time practicing and expanding his plan for Day Two.
Tim Cales holds third with 15 pounds, 15 ounces, anchored by the Day One Big Bass—a 5-pound, 2-ounce kicker. Lendell Martin sits just three ounces back with 15-12, and Tim Frederick rounds out the top five with 15-4, helped by a 4-pound, 10-ounce fish of his own.
Nick Brown holds the tenth spot with just over 14 pounds, while the final check line is currently shared by Jesse Wise and Stacey James, tied with 11 pounds, 10 ounces.
With a shift in the weather, lighter winds, and the boat order flipped for Day Two, expect major movement on the Official Leaderboard. Track the action live on the Fishing Chaos Catch Track and watch it unfold on TNPFL.com starting at 8:00 a.m.
Weather Watch
Day two will be mostly sunny with a high in the low 70s and take off temperatures around 50. Winds be calmer on day two and will blow WNW 5–10 mph.
