What probably seemed improbable, Day One and Two leader Scott Canterbury got things going this morning with a single bite that may change the entire day — and potentially seal the deal on his first NPFL victory. Only the second 5-pounder of the entire event so far (Ken Duke will confirm), Canterbury quickly had two fish for over 8 pounds, including a kicker to start his morning.

Not only is that kind of bite a game changer on the final day of a tight tournament, but it allows the leader to settle into his program and fish for just a handful of quality bites to finish his limit — and give himself a real shot at the win.

Since then, he’s filled out a 13-pound limit with three smaller fish, giving him the unofficial lead over Kyle Welcher, who also got off to a quick start. Welcher has five solid bass for around 13 pounds as well, but one big bite on a frog that came off may hurt his chances when the scales close.

Scott Canterbury is currently out front with 45 pounds, 5 ounces, just ahead of Kyle Welcher, who sits at 44 pounds, 1 ounce. The third member of the Day Two three-way tie, Tim Cales, has roughly 10 pounds on the day and is holding steady in third.

Brandon Cobb has made a move with a solid limit over 14 pounds, jumping into fourth place, while Caleb Kuphall rounds out the top five with about 12 pounds.

All the anglers on Live Coverage are fishing shallow, rotating between shoreline cover and flooded bushes, and mixing in marina docks—where Canterbury caught his two biggest fish early this morning. Flipping jigs, Texas rigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and swimbaits have been the key players so far.

With a long afternoon ahead for the top anglers, we’ll see who climbs the FISHING CHAOS CATCH TRACK leaderboard for a shot at the win — or if one of the top guys can run down Canterbury.

Current Top 10 (Unofficial):
Scott Canterbury 45-5
Kyle Welcher 44-1
Tim Cales 41-3

Caleb Kuphall 39-7
Tavin Napier 39-3
Brad Staley 38-8

The League

Since the NPFL launched in 2021, the goal has remained the same: To prioritize anglers and establish a trail that aligns with the original intentions of competive bass fishing's founders.
