Finale Friday at Eufaula

Can Wes Logan close it out in back-to-back weeks?

After Wednesday’s weather delay and cancelation, the NPFL anglers were finally able to hit the water Thursday for the start of a two-day shootout on Lake Eufaula. And while the sun was blazing—pushing into the mid-90s—the bass didn’t seem to mind the heat or the high, muddy water.

The lake is reportedly fishing small, with many competitors crowding into the few key areas with cleaner water. Second-place angler Brandon Cobb was somewhat relieved after weigh-in, saying three days of pressure would’ve been too much—but for two days, and the way his day went, he feels like he has a shot to run down Logan.

Day One leader Wes Logan agrees. While his decisions have been sharp all season, his execution hasn’t always matched. But not this time. Logan committed to a promising area, stuck with it, and landed two key bites to anchor a solid limit—enough to edge Cobb by 6 ounces.

He’s hoping the slower pace of Day Two lets him further dial in what’s working.

“I left and tried to keep an eye on the good stuff from afar, and guys did fish it—which I fully expected,” Logan said after weigh-in. “I caught fish behind guys yesterday and I’ve got one more day left. After the last two weeks, I can’t be upset about anything.”

Corey Casey sits in third with 18-2, local favorite Tommy Biffle is fourth with 17-13, and North Carolina’s KJ Queen rounds out the top five with 17-9. Tenth place sits at 15-5, meaning one big bite could shuffle the standings fast.

Weather Watch
Finale Friday is expected to bring more sunshine, with morning temps around 76 climbing to the mid-90s by weigh-in. Winds out of the SSW at 10–15 MPH could play a factor, but otherwise conditions should hold steady for a strong finish.
