Mid-Day Report from Logan Martin

From one South Carolina angler to the other, Cobb holds the unofficial lead.

At the halfway point of Day Two, and the midway point of the event, Logan Martin is giving up some fish, but finding quality bass has been the challenge—unless you are Scott Canterbury. Just moments ago, the Alabama angler and Coosa River expert boated a 5.5-pound kicker, bumping him right to the top, just below South Carolina angler Brandon Cobb, who holds an unofficial, narrow lead.

While Cobb has a solid limit estimated at around 12 pounds, his smallest fish is in the two-pound range. Canterbury, of course, anchored by the kicker, has three fish smaller than 2 pounds, giving him a great opportunity to move to the top. Behind them, Hunter Baughman and Brandon Perkins both are in the 25-pound range for a two-day total and are one kicker away from making a move. In fifth, Jesse Wise is almost at 25 pounds himself.

The biggest mover, with 9 pounds on Day One and over 13 on the Fishing Chaos Catch Track, Oklahoma angler Zack Birge has moved into sixth place. Typically, Birge misses a day due to other tournament conflicts and has to fight for his life, but this go-around, he has three days to make moves—and he is doing just that.

On-the-water reports are that most of the top anglers are targeting docks, fishing a mix of baits—including buzzbaits, plopping baits, and chatterbaits. Day One leader Ron Farrow has been fishing a topwater, and as seen on Live Coverage, Farrow is targeting the shallow portions of docks, which resulted in his big bag on Thursday.

The afternoon push is still coming, and we’ll see who climbs the Fishing Chaos Catch Track leaderboard before weigh-in kicks off at 3 PM CST.

Live coverage continues all day tomorrow for Showdown Saturday, wrapping up the final stop of the 2025 season.
