Story by Justin Brouillard | Photos by Tanner & Travis Lyons
With only the afternoon remaining on day two, the anglers are doing work on Lake Amistad and dealing with cellular service which is limiting the capabilities of the Weigh Live Tracker. As we saw on day one, the reported weights were accurate for this in signal, but the top anglers were unable to update the NPFL and therefore made for an interesting Live Weigh In with Big Al and the crew.
Brandon Perkins and John Cox shocked the field weighing in 29 pounds, 9 ounces and 27 pounds, 14 ounces on day one near the end of the field to take the top two spots. Both anglers were worried going into day two with conditions stabilized and the bigger fish moving shallow to spawn.
Unofficially on day two, Cox is reporting a limit for 8 pounds which gives him the lead for now, with Patrick Walters behind him with over 12 pounds on the day. In third, Jesse Wise is holding down his 12 pound limit with a 4.5-pound bass giving him a solid start to the day.
On the water photographers Tanner and Travis are reporting Perkins with three fish on the day with the bite “slower than yesterday.”
When the Weigh Live Tracker shuts down in the early afternoon, a lot will change between now and the weigh in with several anglers saving their best for last.
The weigh-in this afternoon begins at 4:00 PM CST on TNPFL.com.
The top ten look like this:
John Cox 35-5
Patrick Walters 33-7
Jesse Wise 30-13
Brandon Perkins 29-9
Louis Fernandes 29-7
Jason Wilson 25-4
Barron Adams 23-12
Trent Palmer 20-0
Randy Sullivan 19-15
Darrel Robertson 19-5
