David Gaston
Per normal, Progressive AOY Leader David Gaston is focused on simply doing what it takes to catch five bass. “I am guessing its around 41-pounds to win, 28-pounds to get paid, and I and going to try and catch five, and I’ll fish any way needed to do so.”
Nick Prvonozac
Short and sweet from second place in Progressive AOY Nick Prvonozac, “It will take around 45-pounds to win this week and I am going shallow.”
Brandon Perkins
In the third place AOY spot, Brandon Perkins agrees with Prvonozac. “15-pounds a day will probably get it done here this week.”
Keith Carson
Fourth place AOY angler Keith Carson also agrees, 45-pounds will be close to getting the win this week. “My game plan is to go shallow and try to get five bites. Once I catch my limit, I’ll go and try to catch a big one.”
John Soukup
Winner of TWO NPFL events in 2021, John Soukup resides in the fifth place AOY spot. Soukup thinks to win, the range will be 45 to 47-pounds, to get a top ten 37.5-pounds, and check range will be close to 33-pounds.
“My game plan is to try and grind out a limit every day and I will be fishing a lot of new water each day as well.”
Jeff Barth
Local angler Jeff Barth is admitting to be a little nervous going into this event on his home body of water. The local angler has not had much time to prepare for any of the other NPFL events this year, and is nice and relaxed this week. Knowing the lake so well, and knowing what to do and when doesn’t always make for an easy week, and Barth knows it.
“I am on some fish but I am nervous – It’s my home water and things change quick. 14 to 14.5 will do well this week, probably win it. I think because you could catch 17 to 18-pounds one day, but you won’t repeat that, the average will play out. A kicker here is 4.5 to 5-pounds.
Doug Chapin
“Someone will get them good one day and then not find them on same spots the next day. 15 to 16-pounds a day will be right there for a win.
