With one event remaining on the 2022 National Professional Fishing League schedule, it’s all coming down to the last event on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes in Kissimmee, Florida on November 3rd through November 5th. NPFL pro Timmy Reams has led the charge most of the season until after Sandusky Bay with a stellar couple of Great Lakes events which saw Gary Adkins secure the victory on Saginaw Bay in July and a 2nd finish in early September on Sandusky Bay.
With the rise of Adkins, Reams has certainly not fallen off. With a 6th place finish at Saginaw Bay and 27th place at Sandusky, respectively, it’s been a consistent season for both anglers as the NPFL heads to Florida to put it all on the line. It looks like a two-man race at the top with a few NPFL veterans and a rookie close behind in the standings. Adkins leads the charge with 1192 points with reams close behind with 1178. Both anglers can ensure the victory stays between them with a top 35 finish and the battle would then come down to Reams needing to edge Adkins by fourteen points.
Two-time NPFL Champion Taylor Watkins (1149 points) has climbed his way back into the top as the season progressed and is followed closely by rookie Logan Millsaps (1143 points), six points back. Behind Millsaps, another two-time NPFL champion John Soukup sits in 5th with 1141 points. Sheldon Collings is 12 points back of him with 1129 points, with a one-point lead over Bryant Smith, who’s no stranger to the top of the Progressive AOY standings. Behind them, in 8th place, Shawn Murphy has put together a consistent season while William Fletcher and Matt Massey wrap up the top 10.
